About the Artist

Dani Roach

Through her paintings, Dani Roach has the rare ability to speak to the very core of our being.  The paintings are not only the expressions of her creative flame within, but also they have the power to ignite our own.  Perhaps they possess these powers because her intention is to "paint from my soul" as she puts it.  Thus, she has been called a visionary artist - one who sees from her soul and projects what she see onto her art.

Many times Dani's artistic vision takes the form of a picture she sees with her mind's eye, such as her highly imaginative word paintings, it may also take the form of her interpretation of a glorious picture painted from nature.  Witness her Sausalito paintings, they are actually what she terms "elementscapes".  She masterfully combines the elements of air, water, earth, and fire in a subtle, but powerful way that engages the viewer and calls them forth in their own connectedness to these elements.

More than an artist, Dani is also a creator of art.  This distinction may sound simple enough, but applying it is more difficult.  She, like so many professional artists, have been highly  trained in the art of other great artist and in recognizing really "good" art when she sees it.  She says, "it finally dawned on me that if I am painting what has already been labeled "good" art, then I am not creating my own art at all.  In fact, I am painting someone else's!".  Again Dani Roach speaks to the very core of our being:  are we creating our own life or merely living the creation of others?

Dani Roach, a native of North Carolina, now makes her home in Tiburon, California with her husband Bob.  She attended Ringling School of Art and Design, Sarasota, Florida.  She has won many awards and has exhibited her paintings on both the East and West coast, and now on the Internet.
