Love stories and Other Myths

The word "love" means a lot of different things.  Spiritual, brotherly, romantic, lustful, and filial love are some of the ways in which we express ourselves positively.  Though love can be thought of in many ways, it is always a way of expressing affection towards something.

Mythology, fairy tales and fables contain endless stories of faith, beauty, and romance related to expressions of love.  The history of love tells the story of man's and woman's love for life and for each other.  I am drawn to love stories with mysterious forces, magic spells, shape-shifting beings and fantastic animals.  Fantasy means that anything can happen.  The authors of the ancient myths, poets, playwrights, visual artists, and musicians have found magic, mystery, fantasy and knowledge in the pursuit for love.  The stories are sometimes sad and sometimes happy, but the power of love to lift the spirit is always embedded.  Love inspires us to be passionate about life.  Love helps us become what we want to be and proves that we can be anything.

I can be anything in the world.  I can be Cinderella claiming the magic glass slipper.  Or Adam and Eve, the original sinners, being cast out of Eden.  I am a mixture of all sorts of events, feelings and hidden personalities.

My photograph's are about happiness, light, love, transformation, affection, pride, mystery, fantasy, hardship, and romance.  They are about making the world what you want it to be, making yourself happy, and trying to help other people enjoy their lives, too.

I would like to thank Leslie Jackson and Craig Tonkinson for helping me make these photographs.
